The American Red Cross is a non-governmental agency, chartered by Congress in 1905 to “carry on a system of national and international relief in time of peace and apply the same mitigating the sufferings caused by pestilence, famine, fire, floods, other great national calamities, and to measures for preventing the same.” The Van Wert County Chapter of the American Red Cross is made up of volunteers from the community, working together to help those in need.

Locally, we offer Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES), Disaster Services, Blood Service and Health & Safety Services. We are aided in providing these services by many local Partners & Sponsors.

While doing all of this, we follow the Mission Statement of The American Red Cross.
