House Fire On December 12, 2010

The Disaster Action Team was called out to a house fire on north Chestnut Street, in Van Wert, on December 12, 2010. The call came just after 8:00 PM, with the team arriving just before 8:30 PM.
The fire was discovered early by a child in the household, but the fast response of the Van Wert Fire Department was unable to save the house. The team passed out comfort kits to the home residents, and provided refreshments to the firefighters.
6 members of the DAT responded, due to the large number of residents in the home. They arrived back at the garage at about 10:45 PM.
